The Annual Carney 10km Easter Monday 10km and 1/2 Marathon,

Start of the New Year with a challenging 1/2 Marathon Event.

Carney/Oxfield community are delighted to this year bring budding athletes and distance runners alike something to train towards for the 2025 season using some of the most picturesque scenery Sligo has to offer.

Gortin 5mile and 5km 25

Hundreds of runners and walkers are expected to descend on the beautiful village of Gortin to take part in the event.

Both races start at 11:00 am from the entrance of St. Patrick’s Primary School and will finish at the entrance to the Owenkilllew Community Centre. The fully chipped timed race will include a 5-mile course for the more competitive runner and a 5 km alternative for those interested in a more relaxed day out.

The races will follow a fast flat course surrounded by the scenic hills and valleys of the Sperrins. The race committee and local community are incredibly excited to welcome runners of all levels to the race on what promises to be an enjoyable event for all involved.

Push past your limits with this scenic route through the heart of Carrickmore. Ideal for seasoned runners ready to take on a mid-distance challenge.

🏃 5K Race – £10 entry
Perfect for casual runners, walkers, and anyone wanting to soak up the buzz without going the full distance. Fast, fun, and achievable.

🎽 All participants will receive a race bib and timing chip, with refreshments and local entertainment at the finish line.

North West Coastal Challenge – Back for Year Two!

Donegal’s premier adventure race returns, bringing even more thrills, endurance, and breathtaking views. Taking place in the seaside village of Dunfanaghy and its surrounding areas, the challenge features three race waves:

🏅 Elite – 9:30 AM
🚴‍♂️ Intermediate – 9:35 AM
🏃‍♀️ Beginner – 9:40 AM

Competitors will push their limits across an unforgettable route:

• 5.5km Trail Run to the stunning Tramore Beach & back
• 28.5km Cycle Loop with Muckish Mountain and Sheephaven Bay as your backdrop
• Mid-cycle Break: A 1km Run followed by a 1km Kayak Lap on the beautiful Purt Lake

This year competitors have the option to enter the race as a team of 2. Team member 1 must complete the 5.5km trail run. Team member 2 must complete the cycle loop and the kayak leg including the run to and from the kayak.
